So Then……

It was all going so well.

And then I remembered I was me. And since I’m me, I want to do about a bajillion projects at one time.

But seriously, let’s just say that there was this place. And when you went to that place, virtually, you could trade a handmade craft that YOU made for one that someone ELSE made of equal value. There would be no money involved except what you spent for shipping your own craft to the other person. Would you want to? Are you a crafter? Is this worth my time? Am I insane?

Well, let’s just leave that last question alone.

But I have to tell you, I have three craft trades of my very own lined up with her and her and her and I am PUMPED and loving this entire idea. Have you seen me pumped before? No?? You are lucky, Pumpkin, very lucky.

But I have a dream! A dream of a crafty exchange! Who’s with me? Unless someone already did this and I missed it. Because I did search, just so ya know.

Why I'm Crying (updated)

I shot a wedding a few weeks back.
My computer only holds so many photos before going tits up.
I routinely load the photos by the 100 to disks and then erase them from my computer. (can you see where this is going?)
I went to Kinkos to make a banner for the bride and groom of the moment right after ‘I Do!’
The disk I used? I lost there.
I left it. Or they didn’t give it back. Or they gave me the wrong one. Or something.
I called and they have never heard of the word disk.
The 100 photos from the walk down the isle to the I Do moment? Gone.
What is the word I am looking for?
I don’t even know the word to say how I feel.
Loser is so inadequate.

UPDATE: Thanks Daily Piglet and Michelle. I tried both and neither one could find the images. I am afraid I have used the flash card way too many times since the wedding. I take a lot of photos. But I do appreciate the help. If there is some heavy-duty application that works on a pc hard drive after a defrag, that might work but I can’t find one.

New Interview: JenB

Very rarely in life do you meet someone that you instantly know will be your friend. It’s only happened to me a couple of times during my adult life, so when I met JenB and got that tingle in my toes, I wanted to giggle and do a little jig. And here’s the thing about JenB: everyone feels that way when they meet her. She is genuine and authentic and sweet and full of love. She’s also strong and opinionated and not afraid to hold her ground or go after injustice on behalf of herself and her friends.

Two Lunches

When I was up in Northern California I had the pleasure of meeting in person some awesome people that I’ve known only online. One such person is Rebecca Blood. She and her husband, Jesse James Garrett, (I believe they are the original Internet Couple) met me at Adaptive Path where they gave me the grand tour. The building all by itself is impressive (as you can see below) but I love their office for a lot more reasons. One being that they gave me coffee. For free. I know, right? And another is that when you walk in, it’s all open and friendly. They have moving walls, people! With white boards on them! If I had any reason to hire them, I would, as the creative energy running rampant in the room was palpable.

Rebecca, Jesse and I then went to lunch where we ate delicious sandwiches and used our sharp minds to discuss Tivo non-stop for over an hour before we took Jesse back to work and Rebecca and I took a lap around the South Park area. I think. Unless I got that name wrong. But in any case, it was lovely.

Same trip, different day, I met Judith Zissman at the nicest tea shop I’ve ever been to. She had a wonderful blossom tea. We also shared some fruit. My legs dangled to alarming depths under the table.

Judith is smart, funny, has a beautiful smile and knits.

After tea, she took me across the street to a yarn shop and Oh. My. were there some wonderful yarns. I hope we get together again sometime soon.

Brunch

Jen tells us she has decided she is going to get a new house using the powers of manifestation and winning a raffle. She bought one raffle ticket and insists that is all she’ll need. I am a believer in making things happen, so I agree to help out. I tell her I’ll keep mentally working on it when I get back home. We have until June, when the home gets raffled.

Grace says: Oh, I’m manifesting it right now. I’m also doing Kegel exercises and I’ll keep doing both all through brunch.

Brought To You By

Traveling is expensive. I want to do more of it but the costs mount up and it restricts the amount of interviews I get done. It’s public transportation or rental cars and parking and gas, food and incidentals. But it hasn’t been lodging, thanks to super kind and generous people.

My sponsors so far have been:

Joseph Crawford
Isabel Kallman
Rhoda and Dave Anderson
Mickele Hughes
Grace Davis and her husband George

Each of them has been instrumental to me being able to get the Interview Project going. They are the people that support people like me: someone with an unproven idea but with lots of passion. They believe in me and there is no way for me to express how much that means. I can’t wait to launch the site on January 15th. I believe that what I’m creating will serve not only as entertainment but also as a library of the people that have helped to create and shape the internet and the blogosphere, which is important as things keep changing and morphing (as they should!) so we don’t lose where we came from or how we got here. The way our world has changed, the way we interact, the way we get things done, the way we stay connected and informed, the way our neighborhoods and friends have moved from our cities into our computers and the people that take advantage of all these new tools – it’s all worth a deeper look.

Soon, there will be a sponsor/donate page where you can help out if you want. In the meantime, feel free to PayPal leah [at] leahpeah [.] com. And for the person that wanted to donate and stay anonymous, you can always send cash or cashiers check made to Leah Peterson to my PO box. That would be awesome.

Soon, More Words

Soon, I’ll be home and there will be more words. But, for now, these images will have to do. This is the lovely Grace. She and her husband, George, have put me up the last few nights while I’ve been up here interviewing. They are beautiful people.

And this is Malcolm. These pictures show him off so much better than I could tell you about him.
