1) This Daft Punk/Charleston mix is awetothesome. (thanks, Alison)
2) Without going into a long, heated rant, let me just say that there is a right way and a wrong way to make internet friends and get traffic to your site. Because I feel so passionate about this, it’s better if I just link to this awesome, stellar post over at Scalzi.com where you can read how he’s said it so well. And if you’re offended by the capitol F word, you might want to skip it, since his post is peppered with a few well-placed F-bombs. Mom, you could use the Sharpie but your screen will be forever edited. (thanks, Joe)
I read the Scalzi piece…and laughed…and said yep….and was going to comment, but sheesh, 126 plus comments? I don’t have time to go through them. I think I’d like to do a post on commenting–but I’ve passed C in my alphabet thingie.
shit, now you know you are part of my my off-blog marketing method. i kid. gah, i hate people that talk that way.
Thanks for the link, that was an awesome post.
Yay for Daft Punk!! (The “Daft Hands” video still remains my favorite, though. Come to think of it, I only hear their songs on YouTube alongside sweet videos.)
Also, that was one of the things I really would’ve loved to see at the BlogHer conference . . . Talk about how to increase traffic to your blog by bettering your writing and photography (or whatever blah blah) instead of submitting to this trend of selling your soul just to get an extra comment. Healthy self-promotion instead of tacky self-whoring. Or whatever you’d like to call it.
Anywho . . .
Funny you linked this today, because as i was reading a blog this morning, a blog I read every morning, i started reading the other comments, and i thought..wow these people arent even interested in the blog, they just want to get their name out there. I write because I like to write, wether anyone reads the crap or not lol.
