1. Joe Schmidt is holding a charity blogathon for the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation on September 30th. Osteogenesis Imperfecta, more commonly known as OI, is a genetic disorder which affects approximately 20,000-50,000 Americans. OI is a disease that instructs the body to either make little collagen or poor quality collagen resulting in brittle bones. I love it when people actually do something to try and help make the world a better place. Good luck, Joe.
2. A quote from Marianne Williamson that can apparently make me weep for hours:

I love that passage from Williamson and I quote it often, especially to budding creatives. I think we should all have it cross-stitched across our foreheads. (On my backside, I want tattooed a complementary truism from my own mentor: “Not everyone in life going to kiss you on both cheeks and call you blessed. Get over it.”)
Another favorite source of encouragement and wisdom is Julia Cameron, author of Artist’s Way. She has a wonderful way of challenging our most toxic myths about what it costs to express ourselves creatively. One instance is how we think of creative people as having to be jealous, competitive and cutthroat to get their work out there. Cameron says the best of creative people are lavishly supportive of other people and their ideas. Much the way your blog is.

I LOVE that quote. I want my children to grow up not only knowing the quote, but believing it. What a gift to actually be able to embody that sentiment – a gift to ourselves, but an even greater gift to the world around us.
